St. Louis Blues Ice Skate Design Mug

Most team mugs are a cylinder with a logo. The St. Louis Blues Ice Skate Design Mug is built as a hockey skate instead: a black boot with a royal-blue collar, white laces running up the front, the Blue Note logo on the side and a “St. Louis” script near the top. The boot sits on a clear base sculpted like a skate blade frozen into ice, and a curved black handle rises from the heel.

Why the Skate and the Note Belong Together

The Blues took their name from W.C. Handy’s 1914 song “Saint Louis Blues” when the club joined the NHL in the 1967 expansion, which is why a musical note became the logo. Fifty-two years later came the season fans still talk about. In January 2019 the Blues were last in the entire league; in June they won Game 7 in Boston, 4–1, for the first Stanley Cup in franchise history. Along the way, Laura Branigan’s “Gloria” became the team’s victory song, and it still plays at Enterprise Center after every home win.

A skate with the Blue Note on it nods to both halves of that identity: the ice and the music.

Details

• Shape: sculpted hockey-skate body with white laces, blue collar and black boot.
• Logos: Blue Note on the side, “St. Louis” script near the rim.
• Base: clear sculpted blade-on-ice base that keeps the mug upright.
• Handle: curved black handle at the heel of the skate.

Rinkside on the dasher boards, the skate shape reads clearly in profile.

Using It

It handles morning coffee, hot chocolate during an evening game or an iced drink on a summer afternoon. Hold it by the handle rather than the boot when it is full, and set it on a flat surface; the clear base is broad but the skate profile is taller than a standard mug. Hand washing with a soft sponge keeps the laces and logo looking sharp.

Held up in the stands by the handle.

Questions Fans Ask

Can I use it for cold drinks?

Yes. It works for iced drinks as well as coffee and cocoa, as one of our photos shows.

Is the base part of the mug?

Yes. The clear blade-and-ice base is the foot the skate stands on, so the mug sits upright on a counter or desk.

Is it a good gift?

It suits anyone who still has the 2019 run on their mind or sings along to “Gloria” after a win, and it is far easier to spot on a shelf than a plain logo mug.
