San Francisco 49ers Iron Man Advent Calendar 2026

Red and Gold, Twice Over

Iron Man first appeared in Tales of Suspense No. 39 in 1963. By the end of that year Tony Stark had traded his gray armor for the red-and-gold suit that made him famous. The San Francisco 49ers have worn red and gold since 1946. No two colors could fit this pairing better.

This calendar puts Iron Man in 49ers armor, with the Golden Gate Bridge glowing behind him.

Eighty Seasons of the Faithful

The 49ers began in 1946 in the All-America Football Conference and joined the NFL in 1950. The 2026 season is their 80th. They won five Super Bowls in fourteen seasons, from XVI in January 1982 to XXIX in January 1995, with Joe Montana, Jerry Rice and Steve Young. Their fans call themselves the Faithful, and the box line “All heroes start with the Faithful” is a tip of the cap to them.

The Catch

On 10 January 1982, at Candlestick Park, Joe Montana rolled right and threw toward the back of the end zone. Dwight Clark leaped and caught it. “The Catch” beat Dallas in the NFC Championship and launched a dynasty. Two weeks later the 49ers won their first Super Bowl. Every 49ers fan knows that play, and every December brings a little of that hope back.

How Fans Use It

1. Pop a door open on the morning of every December kickoff.
2. Turn the armored minis into ornaments for a red-and-gold tree.
3. Build a little Faithful lineup next to the monitor.
4. Wrap it for the friend who still owns a Montana jersey.
