Guinea Pig Christmas 2026 Advent Calendar

A Guinea Pig for Every Day of Advent

Guinea pigs have a talent for looking surprised by everything. The Guinea Pig Christmas 2026 Advent Calendar makes the most of that face. Behind its doors waits a guinea pig for each day, dressed in something festive and looking straight at you.

The coral-red box shows three guinea pigs side by side: one with a sprig of holly on its head, one in a Santa hat and one hugging a candy cane. Silver pine branches and red and gold baubles frame the top. A row of door outlines along the bottom carries small Christmas icons such as a star, a bell, a stocking and a snowman.

Why a Group Feels Right

Guinea pigs are herd animals. They chatter, groom each other and do best with company. Switzerland takes this so seriously that since 2008 its animal welfare law has required guinea pigs to be kept at least in pairs.

The calendar follows the same idea. Each door adds one more member to the group, so by Christmas Eve a whole festive herd has gathered.

Guinea pigs were first kept by people in the Andes thousands of years ago, and they have been winning hearts ever since. Owners know their little habits well: the squeak when the fridge door opens, the rumble of a contented purr, and the sudden happy hop that everyone calls popcorning. Every outfit in this calendar captures a bit of that personality, which is why it makes such a good present for someone who shares their home with a pair of their own.

The Festive Herd

The guinea pigs come in classic coat colors: ginger and white, chocolate, cream and soft grey. Their outfits fall into a few groups:

• Santa style: Red hats with white trim, a full Santa suit with a black belt and a red cape.
• Reindeer and headbands: Brown antlers, red antlers, gold antlers and bouncy heart headbands.
• Dressed as Christmas: A guinea pig in a tree costume, one wearing a wreath and one under a tree on its head.
• Little gifts: Guinea pigs holding wrapped presents, a peppermint candy, a green bauble and a pair of pink hearts.

The grid of guinea pigs in our photos shows the whole set side by side; the order you find them in stays a surprise.

Questions About the Guinea Pig Calendar

Is it a good gift for a guinea pig owner?

Yes. Owners tend to love anything that shows their pets’ personality, and the outfits give each guinea pig its own character.

Where should I keep the calendar?

Set it on a shelf, a desk or a side table, out of reach of the real guinea pigs, who are happy to chew cardboard.

Is it suitable for children?

It makes a gentle countdown for a child who loves small pets. An adult can help with the first few doors.
