Pittsburgh Penguins 2026 Advent Calendar

A Roster You Can Line Up on a Shelf

These are standing figures on round black bases, not flat ornaments, and each base carries a name. Sidney Crosby with the C on his sweater. Evgeni Malkin and Kris Letang with the A. Jake Guentzel, Bryan Rust, Rickard Rakell, Erik Karlsson. Goaltenders in full mask and pads: Tristan Jarry, Alex Nedeljkovic, Casey DeSmith.

Then the rest of the bench, and three that are not players at all: Iceburgh, the team’s penguin mascot, a Penguins Zamboni, and a puck on its own stand to finish the set.

More Than a Team, It’s a Tradition

That line is printed down the side of the box, and it is doing more than filling space. Pittsburgh is a city where the sports allegiance is largely inherited, and the Penguins sit inside that alongside the other two clubs that share the colours.

The box leans into the setting rather than just the badge: a gold-lit skyline, the city’s bridges, a crowd with flags, the PPG Paints Arena sign and GO PENS GO. It is a picture of a game night rather than a logo on a background.

That matters for who the calendar suits. It is aimed at the supporter whose connection runs through the building and the city, not only through whoever is currently top of the scoring chart.

Naming the Figures Changes the Object

An unnamed mini figure is a generic hockey player. A named one is a specific person, which turns the set into something closer to a card collection than a decoration.

It also gives the countdown a running commentary. Opening Crosby is a different moment from opening a backup goaltender, and anybody who follows the club will have an opinion about the order.

Collections like this fix a squad at a point in time. Some of the names on these bases have since moved on, which is the normal life of a roster, and it is part of why a dated set is worth keeping rather than replacing.

The Roster in the Box

The figures stand on their own bases, so no hooks or thread are needed. They can line up on a shelf rather than hanging on a tree.

For the Supporter Who Keeps the Squad in Their Head

There is a kind of hockey fan who can name the fourth line without looking. This set is aimed at them, because the value is in recognising each base before reading it.

It also works for a younger supporter building a first collection. Twenty-four figures is a full shelf, and the mascot and Zamboni give it some humour alongside the names.

All twenty-four bases are legible in the product shot, so you can check the names before buying. Who turns up on which day follows the numbering rather than that layout.

Questions About the Penguins Calendar

Are these figures or flat ornaments?

Standing mini figures on round bases, each named.

Who is in the set besides players?

Iceburgh the mascot, a Penguins Zamboni and a puck.

Do the figures hang on a tree?

They are built to stand on their bases rather than hang, so a shelf or windowsill suits them better.

The numbering settles that. The picture serves as a roster list.
