Los Angeles Dodgers 2026 NL West Division Champion coin

Division titles do not come with a parade. They come with a dogpile on somebody else’s infield, a clubhouse that smells of cheap champagne, and a flight home. A coin is the right way to mark that — no case required, no wall space, just an object you can hand to someone and say what it was for.

17 September 2026, Cincinnati

Los Angeles clinched the National League West on 17 September 2026, beating the Cincinnati Reds 8-2 at Great American Ball Park. It was the fifth division title in a row and the thirteenth in fourteen seasons — a run that has stopped being remarkable to anyone outside California and never stops being remarkable inside it.

The coin names that season specifically. That is the difference between a commemorative piece and a souvenir: one tells you which year, the other just tells you which team.

In the Hand

Struck from a high-quality alloy at about 4.3 cm in diameter — larger than anything you would spend, small enough to close a fist around. It is solid and well balanced, which is the whole argument for a coin over a printed token: weight is what makes an object feel like it was made for an occasion.

The championship wording carries the design, with the black-and-white tribute treatment keeping it closer to a struck medal than to a souvenir badge. The relief has enough depth that the lettering reads from an angle without needing colour to help it.

Where It Lives

A desk, a drawer, a shelf beside the signed ball, or a pocket if you are the sort who carries something. Coins outlast most commemorative objects people buy for exactly this reason — they need no shelf space, survive being moved house, and still make sense forty years on when nobody remembers what the season felt like.

Looking After It

Alloy holds its finish in dry air and dulls in damp, so a drawer treats it better than a windowsill. Handle it by the rim if you want the relief to stay crisp — skin oils are what darken raised detail over years. A dry soft cloth is all the cleaning it needs; polishes and dips strip the finish out of the recesses and leave it looking worse than before.

Questions Buyers Ask

How big is it?

About 4.3 cm across. That is roughly twice the diameter of a quarter, and thick enough to have real weight rather than feeling like a token.

Does it come with a stand or case?

It arrives as the coin itself. A small acrylic stand is worth buying separately if you want it displayed upright instead of lying flat.

Why a division title rather than a World Series?

Because this is the one that happened on 17 September 2026 in Cincinnati, and the people who sat through all one hundred and sixty-two games know what it took. A coin dated to that season says so precisely.

Will the finish wear off?

The colour is in the struck alloy rather than a coating painted over it, so handling will not take it off. Repeated polishing will — which is why a dry cloth is the entire maintenance routine.
